About

"Bloodheart" is a collective of personal comics of small things I notice in my life and/or want to draw/write about. This is mainly used as a way to practice making comics relatively regularly.

Rather than listing each comic individually in the comics gallery, they're all grouped together under here for convenience.

Important:

Most of the comics are lighthearted but some may discuss more mature topics such as mental health, sexuality, neurodivergence, queerphobia and racism. These comics may also use the visual tool of body horror. For any comics that contain these topics, there will be a warning on the first page.

Where did the name "Bloodheart" come from?

It's what I named my Animal Crossing: New Horizons island. I wanted to do a name based off of the bleeding heart, my favorite flower. This was what I came up with to fit within the character limit and it's been with me ever since. I also think it has an implied dissonance of being soft and gentle and horrifying that both appeals to me and something I hope to achieve with my own art.

What's up with the (main) little guy? What's going on in the world they live in?

This little guy (he/they, currently unnamed) is basically a stand-in of me but not really like a sona or a whole representation of me. Moreso like an in between of being their own character and a vague, representative shell.

He's a walking corpse filled with bugs and plants, held together bandages. It's unsure whether the body he possesses is truly his own. He lives in a post-apocalyptic world where anthropomorphic bugs and plants run in humans' place. When overwhelmed with extreme emotions, he falls apart and his insides run rampant.
